Olympia Farmer Market

Olympia Farmer Market

Last weekend I went to Olympia farmer market. It is such a great operators for people who sell local products. It is a great place where can provide an opportunity to farmer to bring their products in a public market.

The front open area of the market has a lot of fresh herbs to buy and grow.they have such a nice wide variety to choose from, you could spend a good amount of time reading all the different labels of the plants.

Also, there are so many great vendors here, and it is a really nice venue. There are variety of places to eat in addition to the market. Great gift ideas, garden addition, fresh plants, and produce are just a few things they offer.

It is good place to buy some organic fruits.also,  it is simple market which shows people how was people used to sell their products in ancient time.

Gas Works Park

                                                             Gas Works Park
I went last summer to the Gas Works Park in Seattle. It was Great Park to discover and enjoy seeing such an old industry. Gasworks Park has a gorgeous view of the city, the space needle, and the water. I take all my visitors here! Great place to relax, have a picnic, or take pictures.

Gas Works is such a unique park. Visiting the sundial is my favorite thing to do. Just sitting on top of the hill watching the sunset is one of the best thing I did.

On a nice day, the view is as good as it gets. if you need a place that combine industrial architecture with the beauty of the waterfront and nature, then this is your spot.

Boeing Tour

Boeing Tour                                                                                 Last summer I took a tour out of Seattle up to the Boeing plant. There was a small museum area that shows a lot of history about Boeing and the engineering aspect of the planes. There is a cockpit that you can sit in to get a sense for everything a pilot sees. That part made the trip worthwhile for me. The Boeing Tour was an exciting way to see the many steps it takes to create the airplanes that we take for granted. From the first steps of design to the finished planes sitting on the runway, the tour was not only informative but also offered a peak into the future.Visitor to the museum can take a flight around Seattle in a vintage biplane, this is offered during spring and summer only.

I wish I could post some pictures but unfortunately I lost my phone recently.

Olympia National Park

This picture was few weeks ago, one of the best experiences I had was visiting the Olympic National Park. My brother, his friend, and I took some camping stuff like a tent and sleeping rolls and went for an adventure. We looked up a campground that was not too far, and drove in to the spot we had seen on our computer map. We were lucky because we got the last spot for a tent. It took us an hour to set up our bubble tent and get comfortable for the night. It was a full moon that night and it was kind of dreamy because the light from it was so blue. We heard small animals moving around in the dark and close to morning the birds made so much noise we all woke up and were hungry. We did not take food into the camp with us because of bear warnings, so we just waited for the sun to come up and then we packed up and went back toward home so we could find some breakfast. The forest was very beautiful and the trees were huge.

Skateboard Area

Today I want to share one of my favorite activity.  Several weeks ago, I went up to Seattle to visit some friends. They lived on 145th street and were close to a “skate” park. I used to skateboard a lot when I was younger, until I cracked bones in my ankle and stopped doing it. However, I was happy to see all the young boys and even girls skating in this concrete hole in the ground. It is not just a simple hole; it is more like a twisting path that spins down into a cement bowl that is deep at one end and shallow at the other. The kids were dressed in “skater” clothes and had helmets and knee pads, at least most of the very active ones. Skateboarding has become a very interesting sport, even though it is pretty dangerous. I saw lots of kids with bandages on their hands, legs, and one girl had a cast on her arm but she was busy skating again. I think skating is better for kids than sitting in front of a TV or a game boy.

Publuic Market Center

Last week I went to this area in down town Seattle. There were fantastic shops that I liked. The best thing that I liked this area is that area has connected two parts in on land. I meant it has the modern life and the ancient life. Not far away from public market centered to first famous Starbucks coffee. Also, this spot has a history of many things and one of these is Starbucks. Then, lunch time was very busy, I saw people walking around with food they bought from vendors along the street. They were eating from paper plates and looked like they were really loving being at this historic market. I then walked down the stairs at the back of the market and made it to the piers along the waterfront. It was loud and noisy along the way because of lots of traffic. It is a nice place where you can eat, take pictures and have some information about the historic places.

Friend's Gathering For Breakfast

This is a picture of friends gathering for breakfast. As Muslims, we are celebrating Ramadan month during which Muslims fast through the day from many things. We stop eating when the sun rises until the sun goes down. Right now, It is between 17 to 18 hours a day. compared to back home in Saudi Arabia is a little different. Hours of daylight there are less in three hours or so back home because of the lower latitude. The life style changes totally back home during Ramadan. People stay awake all the night as well as shops. It is like all the community fast together which helps people to encourage each other. There is a thing that I do not like over there especially during Ramadan, and that is the weather. It is really super hot. It is the reason that I like to fast here is because the weather is better. Even though Ramadan has long hours here in Washington, but I spend my day without feeling thirsty. The weather really helps. After a long day you want to find delicious food. One of the things that I like back home is food. During Ramadan you end your fast with really delicious food. Here, I have to cook for my self because even if I want to buy food, I can not find a good restaurant to eat at. When time goes beyond midnight, most restaurants are closed already. I still can find fast food, but I get sick of burgers and fried chicken. The best way to enjoy food with friends during this time is to buy a great meal at a good restaurant and take it home, to eat with friends when the sun goes down, and get enough breakfast food to eat, just before the sun rises again.

To non Muslims, it must seem a strange ritual, to fast without food or water for such a long time. It is difficult sometimes to be awake for classes during the day, after spending the night eating and talking with friends. Ramadan is more enjoyable when you are with friends.

Tolmie State Park Beach

Tolmie state park beach

Today, I went to this beach which is located on the shore of Puget Sound.

I almost hate leaving this review because the park can already get too busy, and I'd like to keep it as much of a secret as I can... but it's too awesome not to share. Great hiking trails. Very unique, quiet, and relaxing beach. Visited during the week in the summer and had a great time exploring. The park has beach access that you can park near, several grills and picnic areas, and restrooms.

It's a fun place especially for little ones interested in aquatic life. My only advice is if it's sunny and during the weekend, get there as early as possible or all the parking spots will be taken. I prefer to visit this park on less busy weekdays if during the summer months.During the cold winter days, if you go to this beach you can enjoy it by yourself, but it is not as pleasant as when it is warm and sunny. It is a great place to search for unusual stones, sea shells and odd shaped driftwood. I have seen lamps made of driftwood that are very pretty, especially when a few sea shells are added to the wood with a little glue.

I think it is good for my mind, to go walking in nature. I enjoy the sound of the wind and waves and the noises the sea gulls make as they zoom around the beach looking for bits of food. This is a wild place, and nature is good for me. This beach is a great spot for thinking about lots of memories.

Tacoma trip

                                                                    Tacoma trip

Last Monday,  I went with my classmates to explore Tacoma as tourist and our guide was our professor. First, we stopped to eat. there were several restaurants, I saw a Mediterranean restaurant and I wanted to try it. . It was really delicious and I recommended for anyone who might stop there. Then, we decide to go to the art museum. Unfortunately it was closed so we started to discover the area around the museum. We found some musical instrument in the public that anyone can play. we enjoyed playing them.I think, it is a good idea to have some instruments music in the public because there are many people who will enjoy playing them and it is even give some people discover their talents. I was one day sitting in the airport in Germany. There were many musical instrument that anyone can play and enjoy instead of getting board. There was a guy playing piano. Apparently, he was professional at it. He got  all the people’s attention and people enjoy it. This is an example of how these instruments in public have really advantages and give some people the opportunity to discover their talents.
Then we went to the bridge that has a nice view to the highway and also there was a wall has some fantastic glass art. The glass were imagination. I really like them because they are shaped in natural way. There was a glass got my attention which was a big bottle shaped like snake. I recommend this place for people who love art and imagination things to go look at. unfortunately, I did not take many pictures.

The target of our trip was to explore the area and immerse our self in any thing that might give us a new perspective or idea. my last two trip gave me a new perspective that being a tourist does not require to travel far away from home. It could be the neighbor but what we need is to think and look at those places as tourist.

Tumwater Falls Park

Tumwater Falls Park holds today historic information that many visitors enjoy and I was one of them. It has a nice area where anyone can enjoys the walking and looking at the plants. The sound of the river is the greeted. The walking path is family friendly and an easy stroll. The falls are just majestic. The ground is gorgeous.

Tumwater Falls state park is a lovely, quiet place to spend an emerald green afternoon in our lovely northwest. This jewel of a park connects to history through the Deschutes River basic. This park is exceedingly beautiful. The running trails are exquisite and it is  kind of a romantic area. It has area where lovers wrote their names.

Gorgeous park keeps you surround by the nature all the time. It has a lot of native plants that are just lovely and give you the sense that you are walking through a magical forest. It has also some stone work, making beautifully crafted retaining walls and a couple flagstone paths without any mortar, just the natural stone. It provides spots that detail the history of the falls and its many purposes (hydroelectric plant, beer manufacturing, and a salmon hatchery. Also, it has a rich history of Olympia beer.

Water Falls park is an awesome area where anyone can spend the day fresh with nature. It is historic place where hold many stories to generations after generation. It has many kinds of native plants that keep the visitor more energized.

childhood memory

heyyy

This picture is a soccer field at saint martin's university. it represents my childhood. I used to play soccer every day, when I was 10 years old. sometimes I play twice a day. I grew up with ambitions to be a famous player in the future but sometimes life takes you to another field. anyway I still practice soccer as a habit.
